About Us We are a rural based retail saddlery established in 1999 in a small village in West Wales. The proprietor, Gill Watts, was the manageress of the huge Farnham Saddlers before relocating to Wales and has a wealth of experience both as a retailer and a rider. We supply a full retail saddlery sales and repair service from our showroom premises where customers are welcome to browse through our extensive range of pre-owned and new saddles (we generally have around fifty or so saddles in stock) and riding accessories. In broad terms we have everything you would expect to find in a good saddlery in addition to a selection of second hand items.
Saddle Commission Sales
Because we specialise in pre-owned
saddle sales we are pleased to take saddles for sale on a commission
basis. We take a 10% commission of the sale price and deduct any
expenses that have been agreed with the vendor for necessary or
desirable improvements such as replacement of worn or damaged parts.
New SaddlesIn addition to pre-owned saddles we offer the Thorowgood range, one of the most popular makes of new synthetic saddles. Further information on these saddles can be found on the Thorowgood website, www.thorowgood.co.uk. New leather saddles are available to order from other major English manufacturers.
Mail OrderWhilst we are not a mail-order business, because we believe in personal contact and service, we are pleased to supply easily specified items by post for customers unable to visit our shop in person. A reasonable P&P charge is of course added in this case, and it would be necessary to contact us first by phone or email to establish what the terms might be. Saddlery Repair and Made-To-Measure Bridles ServiceWe are also able to provide a full saddlery repair and refurbishment service, including full reflocking, made-to-measure bridles and other leatherwork, and an on-site repair service for horse rugs.
Saddle FittingBeing in a rural location, there is plenty of space adjacent to the shop for customers to bring their horse for saddle fitting and trial. Where this is impractical we encourage customers to take saddles home to try in their own environment on a sale or return basis, or for local customers Gill can often help by bringing a selection of saddles to the customer’s premises so that a choice can be made in familiar surroundings and a relaxed atmosphere; this would often be the horse’s preference and can make life easier for everybody! |
